When you choose Italy as a destination for your pension, the first question that comes to mind is "where do I move?". This is especially because Italy is in itself a very varied territory and different from any point of view, so moving to Sicily rather than Puglia can make a clear difference based on your preferences.

Theoretically, any region is perfect for a pensioner, but according to some statistics there would be some with a higher quality of life.

Here is a list of places to retire for retirement that can go meeting the needs of any pensioner.

Cianciana, Sicily.

The rent costs are probably the lowest in Italy, and as we have amply explained, it is always better to rent rather than buy an apartment. The city is clean and is used to the presence of foreigners who are hosted and welcomed just like locals! Here the heat of the south is evident and can be breathed at every meter. History and traditions follow one another, as does the incredible accumulation of beautiful landscapes. The territory is located between the Sicani Mountains and the Platani Valley, for this reason it is particularly suitable for people seeking the well-being of the mountains and natural places.

Cianciana is widely used also and above all to reach the nearest destinations, such as Agrigento, Sciacca and the beautiful beaches overlooking the coast of the African sea.

In the lower areas of the valley you can find the Mediterranean scrub and therefore real green lungs. For bird-watching lovers it is possible to observe rare species thanks to the geological nature of the territory that has allowed the creation of natural points with a beautiful atmosphere.

Soverato, Calabria.

Soverato is a beautiful city located in Calabria, and more precisely in the province of Catanzaro. Soverato overlooks the Ionian Sea, in the Gulf of Squillace. Particularities of this locality are the endless clear beaches, and the crystal clear sea: it is precisely here that the cities of Montepaone, Petrizzi and Satriano are located. Soverato is in a very strategic point, as you can also reach it by air through the nearby airport of Lamezia Terme.

Despite its small size compared to other more known Calabrian cities, it still holds many activities to do and many places to see and explore. The small town holds many works of Christian architecture, such as the Parish of Maria SS Immacolata or the Church of Sant'Antonio Da Padova. A charming, warm and hidden place that is worth visiting for at least 30 days, so you can experience the authenticity of Calabria on your skin.

Pineto, Abruzzo.

Pineto is located about twenty minutes drive from Pescara, in the heart of Abruzzo. Unlike the places mentioned so far it is a less maritime place and certainly more famous for its immense natural parks and its mountains. Designed especially for those who want to get away from the chaotic life of the city and stay cool but also for lovers of the sea because one of its features is to have a beach that fits into a pine forest: the perfect place! In Pineto there are many country festivals, which allow foreign tourists to immerse themselves in the true Italian culture made of parties, games and entertainment unique in its kind.

Ponza, Lazio.

Ponza is part of a group of islands located in the Tyrrhenian Sea mid-way between Rome and Naples.

There you can find a lot of things to do, such as walking in the centre where you can sit in a cafe or in a restaurant. In the Island of Ponza the sunset is a serious thing. This place is perfect for people who just want to relax. There is a very touristic place known as Terrazze Chiaia di Luna, where you can admire the whole gulf, including the island of Palmarola not far away.  Throughout the island of Ponza it is possible to observe the work of the Roman architects who, because of the scarcity of water, built an intricate network of aqueducts that you can still visit. They are called Cisterna della Dragonara.

One of the best ways to visit the island of Ponza is definitely to rent a boat and take the tour of the island with the latter to enjoy the sea and the calm of solitude; you can cross the Natural Arch and arrive at a gigantic rock formation. This island is also recommended for couples, because it is often called "Island of love", perhaps thanks to its being on the sidelines of the chaos of the city.

Monopoli, Puglia.

Monopoli is located in Puglia, and is a beautiful city rich in culture and traditions to be respected. The city is located 47 minutes from Bari and is known because aesthetically it is one of the most interesting as it is characterized by white houses that contrast the turquoise waters of the coast. The most visited attraction is certainly the Cathedral of Monopoli, built in the twelfth century. It was then completely demolished to build a baroque cathedral.

One of the hidden gems of the city is definitely "the old town", a very characteristic village where you can interface with typical houses full of small windows. Or, for lovers of castles, you can visit the Castle of San Carlo which is a real fortress overlooking the small port of the city. Monopoli is a paradise for those who seek the tranquility of a small village but at the same time the infinite beauty of the sea, the warmth of the people and the artistic and historical culture of Italy.
