Abruzzo is located exactly in the center of Italy and is just a few kilometers from Rome. Abruzzo, despite being in the center, is considered a southern region in terms of culture, hospitality and variety of activities that can be carried out.

It is a very special region with castles, medieval fortresses and ancient villages. In fact, in Abruzzo it is possible to see not the Italy of traditions, but the historical Italy and all that made this nation special all over the world.

In Abruzzo you can find the highest concentration of nature parks, and this is why it is highly recommended for those who want to spend a quiet pension but also full of outdoor activities to be able to perform: hiking, mountain biking, climbing and so on.

In Abruzzo there are also over 100 km of coastline and this also makes possible maritime activities. For lovers of classical culture, it must be said that in Abruzzo there is a variety of museums, cinemas and theaters, especially thanks to the fact that it houses some of the oldest universities in Italy. This certainly makes it a more active and dynamic region.

As well as throughout Italy, here you can see local open until late at night. Socialization is put first and is encouraged through several group activities. In Abruzzo there are often festivals dedicated to local food, especially to a very valuable meat known as "arrosticini", a variety of sheep meat known throughout Italy. Also here there are local markets that, unlike the regions further south, are mainly focused on the trade of meat, cheese, wines and different pasta dishes that as you can imagine represents a wealth for the region.

The largest national park is in Abruzzo, and we talk about the Gran Sasso. Here you can not only carry out the most varied activities, but you can also observe a variety of rare or endangered animals that are obviously in a very protected environment.

We could define Abruzzo as the right compromise for those looking for both the natural aspect in which they can immerse themselves and for those looking for the modernity of an Italian city rich in culture.

Why moving to Abruzzo is a brilliant idea?

The diverse scenery. Abruzzo offers one of the best landscapes in Italy. Gran Sasso is the dominant element that dominates the entire region from above through a natural park right in the middle of the Apennines. But that’s not all: as if by magic, in Abruzzo you can also find the sea, with its vast beaches and crystal clear sand. It is without a doubt a paradise for nature lovers, but also for the eternal undecided or for those who love not only the sea but also seek the fresh refreshment of the mountain. On the coast you can also find the ancient "trabocchi", old wooden platforms used by fishermen and now adapted for the people who want to take a bath.

Middle Age. Medieval villages are everywhere in Abruzzo. These are small villages that enclose a centuries-long history, and that allow you to live to the maximum all the tradition and culture of the place. Unfortunately, these villages have been damaged by the weather and in general by the passage of time. Local citizens, however, are starting more and more projects to better restore these enchanted places in which to spend whole days: you will be surprised by the magic of the place.

The cost of living. In Abruzzo the cost of living is very low, since life is very simple. Even the inhabitants of the area pay a very low rent, and in particular in the university areas rents drop drastically to allow students out of office to be able to move without giving up too much. Abruzzo is a hospitable land with a very developed and heartfelt culture of hospitality, and it is for this reason that it has proved to be one of the best places to spend your life as a pensioner.

Clean air and nature. Despite being in central Italy, Abruzzo seems to have been spared by industrialization. It is not difficult to find vast green spaces in which to make excursions and in this region there is one of the lowest pollution indices in the whole of Italy. The air is always clean, especially thanks to the altitudes that are reached in the highest places and between the mountains.
